Freeland B. "Bill" Strong, 83, of Milan, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Aledo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Services for Bill will be Noon on Tuesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Visitation will be Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post No. 246.

Bill was born on August 23, 1931 in Tazewell Co., Virginia. He married Vendetta Asbury on December 23, 1953 in Virginia. Bill worked as a meat cutter at the 20th Street Market in Rock Island. He attended Westside Assembly of God Church, Davenport. Bill was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Vendetta; daughter, Sharon Kennedy, Reynolds; a son, Billy (Marilyn) Strong, Rock Island; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Martin, West Virginia.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Susie Strong and Dorothy Pack.
