Gail I. Thompson, 72, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026 at her home.

Gail was born June 25, 1954 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Calvin and Verlea (Van Dolah) Staats. She married Dennis “Butch” Thompson on September 1, 1979 in Illinois City, IL.

Gail worked for Unity Point as an Inventory Coordinator for 36 years.

Gail enjoyed gardening riding her Harley, cooking, collecting Gnomes and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Jason (Misttie) Gilleland, Fruitland, IA, Jennifer (Jeff) Brozovich, Fruitland, IA and Christina (Jay) Long, Reynolds, IL; grandchildren, Tylor, Damon, Jordan, Justin, Jodi and Ali; sister, Karen (Yacouba) Doumbia, Wilton, IA and brother, Dennis (Mimi) Staats, Sterling, IL

A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverfront Grille, Rock Island, on September 27, 2026 from 12-3pm.
