Gary A. Kistler, 84, of Andalusia, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Silver Cross Nursing at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Gary's memory.

Gary was born September 19, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, to Floyd and Harriett (Warnock) Kistler. He graduated from Rock Island High School, Class of 1958. Gary proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1967. He married Evelyn Sanders on March 24, 1962, in Rock Island. Gary worked at Case IH as an industrial electrician for over 25 years, retiring in 2002.

Gary loved the outdoors, enjoying fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also adored his labs. Above all, Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and having a good laugh.

Those left to cherish Gary's memory include his wife of 62 years, Evelyn; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Richard Hall; grandson, Zachary (Brooke) Birmingham; and great-granddaughter, Mayla Birmingham.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Gary Adam Kistler.
