Gene L. Malone, 85, of Rock Island, passed away on July 1, 2017 at his home.  Funeral services for Gene will be held at 12 Noon Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4th Ave. E., Milan.  Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine.

Gene was born on August 29, 1931 in Rock Island, the son of Richard and Clara Ludwig Malone.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy.  Gene married Stella Anthony on February 14, 1953.  Gene worked as a welder at Farmall for 30 years.  He enjoyed working at the Milan American Legion following his retirement from Farmall.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons; Daniel, Mark and Ally Malone, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends.
