Genevieve L. "Gen" Romeo, 96, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Genevieve L. Miller was born on March 25, 1919 in Gilchrist, IL, a daughter of Henry and Emma Miller. She married P. Samuel Romeo on July 12, 1936 in Peoria. He died on July 30, 1996.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; James (Pat) and Robert (Donna), all of Rock Island, and Chuck (Mary Anne) of Austin, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her younger brother, Dale Miller of Decatur, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; daughter, Ginny Lou; son, Victor; five sisters and three brothers

Mother grew up during the Depression. She was a hard worker, a great cook, loved her family and liked to play cards and dance!

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks to all those at Hope Creek Care Center who gave Mom such excellent care.

Private funeral services will be held today at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.
