George T. Brems, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

Funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Project.

George was born May 19, 1931 in Chicago, the son of George T. and JoAnn (O'Flaherty) Brems. He married June Zuidema on January 8, 1957 in Moline. He was employed as a journeyman carpenter. George enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching family play basketball, woodworking, and making art.

George is survived by his sons, Stephen Brems and Mark Brems, both of Coal Valley; daughter, Sarah Schoenrock, California; grandson, Tony Shoenrock; great grandchildren, Hannah and Ila Shoenrock; brother, Richard Brems; and sister-in-law, Mary (Marlyn) Faber, Fulton. He was preceded in death by his wife, June Brems; son, Rory Brems; and parents.
