IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George G.
Hall Jr.
September 9, 1933 – June 8, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Hall Jr., age 91, of Reynolds, Illinois, who peacefully departed this life on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his beloved home. George was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life spanned nearly a century, filled with love, service, and enduring commitment to his family and community.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, located at 9619 140th Street West, Taylor Ridge, Illinois. Prior to the mass, family and friends will gather for visitation from 9 to 10:30 AM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 W. Edgington Street, Reynolds. Following the services, George will receive military honors at his final resting place in Reynolds Cemetery, Reynolds, Illinois, where he will be laid to rest. Born on September 9, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana, George was the son of George B. and Mary Lornston Hall. He devoted his life to service, marrying his beloved wife, Delora Reynolds, on January 3, 1959, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. George's legacy of service extended beyond his family as he proudly served in the U.S. Army and dedicated an impressive 73 years to Local 309 as a laborer and foreman, retiring from Normoyle and Berg Construction. His commitment to his craft and community was unmatched, and he is honored to be recognized as the oldest member of the Local 309. George was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where he drew strength and inspiration from his faith as well as sang in the choir for many years. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for his family will be deeply missed.
He found joy in life's simple pleasures, from taking fishing trips up north to spending quality time at his favorite casino. George relished his golf cart rides, often taking these leisurely journeys to visit friends. As a proud grandfather, he attended every event and milestone celebrated by his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Delora, along with their children: Randy Hall of Preemption, IL, Cheryl (Sam) Petersen of Andalusia, IL, Tom (Vicky) Hall of Reynolds, IL, and Gina (Chris) Rowe of Reynolds, IL. He was a doting grandfather to twelve grandchildren and a proud great-grandfather to twenty-three great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of love and compassion. George was preceded in death by his parents, son Daniel Hall, grandson Steven Hall, and siblings Freda Harkey, Dora Broten, Harold "Bud" Hall, and Elaine Anderson, as well as daughter-in-law Wanda Hall. Memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Taylor Ridge, or to the Milan American Legion.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kristin Anderson for her loving care and compassion in helping care for George. Online condolences, memories, and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com.
