George W. Keckler, Jr., 88, of Taylor Ridge, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services for George will be 10 am, Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be conducted by the Milan American Legion Post 569. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

George was born on December 11, 1933, in Iowa City, Iowa, a son of George W. Keckler, Sr. and Lois F. Newberry Keckler. He married Peggy B. Simon on February 8, 1969, in Springfield, ILL. Mr. Keckler worked as a groundskeeper at the Isle of Carpi Casino, Bettendorf. He had previously worked for Sivyer Steel, Bettendorf. George was an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening. He was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Greg and Connie Duffield, Diana and Michael Skidmore, Deeni Leake, Daniel and Cynthia Duffield, Billy and Debra Duffield, Brenda and James Bowen, George A. and Shannon Keckler, Lisa and Pat West, Keith and Sherry Reed, Craig and Wendy McBee, Theresa and Clark Brain; many grandchildren; and many great grandchildren; as well as several siblings.

George was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy; and several siblings.

The family would like to thank Mr. Keckler's special neighbors, Mitch and Sue Miller for all they did for George.
