George W. Morrow Sr., 87, of Rock Island, died Monday, January 2, 2023 at home.  A funeral service will be 12 pm Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan.  Visitation will be from 11 am until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be presented.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

George was born in Eads, Tennessee on May 8, 1935, a son of Monroe and Mattie Jackson Morrow.  He married Erma Moore on August 31, 1957 in Austin, Texas.  She preceded him in death on June 28, 2017.

George was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He worked as a machinist for Navistar, formerly International Harvester and Rock Island Farmall.  He retired in 1987.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Denise (Tony) Hall, Austin, Texas, George Morrow Jr., Rock Island, Ill. and Jeannetta (Larry) Ford, Austin, Texas; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons, Vincent and Darryl Morrow and brother, Frank Morrow.
