George H. Pauley, 93, of Milan, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 UPH-Proctor, Peoria.

A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Friday, November 9, 2018 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 am Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.

George was born on December 28, 1924 in Lucerne, Missouri, the son of Guy and Lena (Pettit) Pauley.  He married Mary Lou Callahan on August 9, 1947 in Green Bay, WI.  George was the setup man in the steel metal department at American Air Filter, Moline for 33 years.  He was also part of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge 2045, Rock Island.  He was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  George was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan and R.I. VFW #1303.

George is survived by his children, Sharon Lohnes, Pekin, IL, Larry (Joyce) Pauley, Mesa, AZ, and Steven (Kathy) Pauley, Milan; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and brothers, Bob and Skip Pauley.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Pauley; parents; brothers, Bill, Lloyd, Rex, Mike and Ed; sisters, Vivian, Stella, and Bess; granddaughter, Tracey Pauley Lane; and son-in-law, Terry Lohnes.
