George A. Rosenthal, 81, of Rock Island, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a service to follow at 6 p.m. Memorials may be left to Calvary Church of the Quad Cities.

George was born on Feb. 17, 1934, in Rock Island, the son of Edward and Audrey Rosenthal. He married Treva Logan on Dec. 1, 1972, in Rock Island.

Mr. Rosenthal retired from the Rock Island Police Department as a sergeant after 22 years of service. Following his retirement, he was employed as head of security for A.D. Huesing Corp. for 18 years.

He was a member of Calvary Church of the Quad Cities and the Trio Masonic Lodge. George loved the Lord and enjoyed studying scripture. He also enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and Bears.

Survivors include his wife, Treva; children, Steven (Kerry) Rosenthal, Janet Cockran, James (Michelle) Rosenthal, Brad Rosenthal; grandchildren, Steven, Benjamin, Austin, Kourtney, Jacob, Daniel, Madison, Zachary, Samantha and Levi; great-grandchildren, Justin, Taleah, Madison, Ashton; sisters, Lillian Luckey, Marie Haynes, Violet Fisher. He was preceded in death by sons, Joel Rosenthal, Ryan Rosenthal; brothers, James and Paul Rosenthal; sisters, Louise Lucier and Betty Johnson.
