Gilbert "Butch" Eugene Overton Jr., 63, of Milan, passed away Sunday February 20, 2022 at his home.

A gathering celebrating Butch's life will be held on Saturday March 12, 2022 from 4:00-10:00pm at Jim's Knoxville Tap, 8716 Knoxville Rd, Milan, IL 61264. Memorials may be left to QC Paws. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

Butch was born on September 12, 1958 and was raised in Sherrard, Il, the son of Gilbert and Jody Overton Sr. He married Kandy Strickler on December 30, 2002 in Rock Island.

Mr. Overton had been employed as a dock supervisor with Hodge Company. He had previously been employed with Dohrn Transfer.

He enjoyed camping, playing cards, watching the Chicago Bears and old western movies.

Survivors include his wife, Kandy; mother, Jody; children, Jon (Amanda) Overton, Gene Overton, Amanda Overton, Cody (Emma) Overton; grandchildren, Allison, Logan, Emmett; siblings, Linda, Cindy, Mitzi, Shari, Danny, Gary, Paula; several bonus grandchildren, friends, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and 2 grandchildren, Gunner and Ophelia.
