Gladys A. Johnson, 86, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to American Heart Assoc. or American Cancer Society.

Gladys was born on March 10, 1928 in Wappello, IA, the daughter of Charles and Josephine (Jones) Puffinbarger. She married Everett McDonough and later married Donald Myers. She then married Marvin Johnson on July 6, 1988 in Tipton, IA.

Mrs. Johnson was the owner and operator of the Border Lounge for over 17 years before her retirement.

She was a member of the Friends Circle Club, Moline. Gladys loved spending time with her family and going to the river boats.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Thomas and Deanna McDonough; daughter in law, Helen McDonough; grandchildren, Kathy Minks, Travis McDonough, Patty McDonough, Donald McDonough, Michael McDonough, Rhonda Meyers, Crystal Westerfield, Tonya Hammit, Terra Anderson; great grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Tristen, Harlee, Nolan, Kacie, Jessica, Mathew, Ryan, Kendra, Madison, Christopher, Erik, Jessica, Quinten, Quantee, Jason and Skyler.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gary McDonough; brothers, Albert, Ralph, Van, Robert Puffinbarger; sisters, Marjorie Puffinbarger, Alice Zolcke, Lorean Reish; and 5 infant siblings.
