Glen G. Davis, Sr., 94, of Rock Island, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Cornerstone Christian Church, Moline.

Glen George Davis was born on August 19, 1921 in Beacon, Iowa, a son of William and Gladys Kirkendall Davis. He married Betty Kerler on April 10, 1942 in Kahoka, MO and later married Vivian Erickson in April 1997, they both preceded him in death.

Glen served his country in the later years of WWII in the Philippines with the U.S. Army. After returning home, Glen worked in production at Farmall in Rock Island. He retired in 1982.

Glen was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Moline. He greatly enjoyed caring for his rental properties and remodeling homes in his younger years. In later years, he took comfort in reading his beloved Bible. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Paul Davis, Glen James Davis, Chris Wamberg, Glen Davis III, Todd Franklin, Amy Davis, Tim Davis, Ryan Davis and Jacob Davis; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters in law, Mary Davis and Mildred (Sonnie) Reed; daughter in law, Marsha Davis and several nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his wives, parents, daughter, Dixie Wamberg; sons, Glen, Jr., Paul, Mark and Daniel Davis; a sister, Violet; brothers, William and Ross Davis and a granddaughter, Amanda Brisendine.
