Glenda J. Hankins, 81, of Rock Island, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date. Private burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family with arrangements.

Glenda was born on April 7, 1939 in Rock Island, a daughter of Thomas W. and Mildred M. (Bendt) Wardlow. She married John T. Hankins on April 13, 1957 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on April 25, 2018. Glenda worked in sales at McCabe's Department Store in Rock Island and J.C. Penney in Moline. She cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Glenda's memory include her daughters, Julie (Pete) Vogel, Moline, Susan (Bill) Foss, Rock Island and Penny Hankins, Geneva, New York; grandchildren, John (Betsy) Vogel, Rachel (Jonathan) Quinn, Steven Vogel, Andrew Foss, Dallas Foss and Billie (Jeremy) Bersamira; great grandchildren, Marta, Simon, Sebastian and Elijah; sisters-in-law, Karen (David) Waite, Davenport and Billie Anderson, East Moline; and several nephews.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; and sisters, Alberta Badtram and Shirley Young.
