Glenn "Cy" A. Scherer Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Country Manor in Davenport.  A Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM with Funeral services following at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.  Christian Burial will take place at Rock Island Memorial Park.

Glenn was born in Davenport on June 22, 1941 to Elizabeth (Stengel) and Glenn Scherer Sr. He grew up and attended school in Rock Island, graduating from Rock Island High School.  He was united in marriage to Carolyn Gibbons in 1969, they soon welcomed a daughter, Glenda.

Glenn worked a variety of jobs throughout his career including, over the road truck driver, city bus driver and some construction.

Glenn was a member of the National Association of Rocketry. He enjoyed model trains, cars and car shows, and photography. He especially enjoyed visiting with people and showing them pictures.

Glenn is survived by his daughter, Glenda (John) Kemnitz; grandchildren, Joe (Makayla Humphrey) Thomas, Sam Thomas, Jane Thomas, and Mary Thomas; brother, Douglas (Terri) Scherer; and many friends and caregivers at Country Manor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, Stephen Scherer.
