Obituary

Glenn A. Hohl, 73, Milan, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at UnityPoint-Trinity Hospital, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. There will be a memorial service at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the funeral home. Inurnment with military honors at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.

Glenn was born on April 19, 1951 to Dale and Diane (Morgan) Hohl in Moline, IL. He attended Sherrard High School and then enlisted in the US Army. He served in Germany until April 16, 1974 when he was honorably discharged. Glenn returned to the Quad Cities and started his career with the City of Rock Island. He worked as a senior lead mechanic for 37 years until his retirement in 2011.

On July 11, 1992 he was united in marriage to Shelley Nelson. The couple made their home in Milan and loved their yearly winter trips to Brownsville, TX.

In his younger years, Glenn played on several pool leagues and won numerous awards. Glenn was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and fishing. He also liked riding motorcycles and was active with GWTA and ABATE. He loved shooting skeet and trap and was a member of the Bi-State Gun Club and the Milan Rifle Club. Glenn shared his passion for shooting and fishing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shelley; daughters, Shannon Leffler and Carrie Ward; grandchildren, Devin Laird, Ayanna Ward, and Allister Ward; siblings, Neal Hohl, Pat Hohl, Danny Hohl and Karen (Chuck) Warner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Michael Hohl.
