Gracia Lynn Stebens, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 81. Gracia was born on July 4, 1943, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of George E. and Alma L. (Kelly) Sowers. She married Richard W. Stebens on August 6, 1961. Gracia lived a life rich with love and purpose mostly in Davenport, Iowa, and later in Rock Island, Illinois, where she spent years making cherished memories with her family and friends.

Gracia graduated from Rock Island High School class of '61 and dedicated her professional life to serving others, working at the Rock Island YMCA and later as a Call-In Supervisor at Medicare. Her compassion and commitment to helping those around her left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to work with her. She enjoyed being a part of her community and did volunteer work all over the Quad Cities.

A vibrant member of the Blackhawk Hiking Club, Gracia found joy in the great outdoors. She was an avid gardener, nurturing her love for nature, and often spent her days biking with friends. She participated in "Ride the River and the "John Deere Ride" annually, embracing every moment life had to offer.

Gracia leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Cindy Payne, Mindy Williams, Tim Stebens, and Jennifer Stebens, as well as her grandchildren: Casey Williams, Kelley Williams, Danielle Williams, Robyn Payne, Ashley Payne, Victoria Brooks. She also enjoyed the delight of eight great-grandchildren. Gracia is survived by her brother, Tom Sowers, and 6 cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and ex-husband.

A memorial service will be held to honor her life on April 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Friends and family will gather for visitation on April 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Following these services, Gracia will be laid to rest at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Gracia's name to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities or to Shriner Children's Hospital.

Gracia Lynn Stebens will be deeply missed, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
