Gregory "Greg" P. Young, 73, of Rock Island passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral and Crematory, Rock Island, with a rosary to be recited at 3:30 pm. Inurnment with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island or VVA Chapter 669.

Greg was born on September 6, 1951 in Rock Island, IL, a son of Harold and Elizabeth (Morlock) Young. After high school, Greg joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and served as a Military Policeman. He married Pamela Lind on June 18, 1976. Greg worked as a non-food manager with Eagle Food Stores and later Hy-Vee in Davenport.

Greg was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island. His hobbies included golfing and playing music.

Those left to cherish Greg's memory include his wife, Pam; brothers, Steve Young, Laurie (Sharon) Young and Terry (Teri) Young; sister-in-law, Kathy Young; and several nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Young.
