Lupe worked at St. Anthony's Care Center, Rock Island, in 1966-67. She went on to become a seamstress for about 22 years at Seaford Clothing  in Rock Island, where she made many friends. Amongst  whom were her compadres Juan and Lilia Trevino, Pedro and Rosa Lara, and other compadres by which they had  goddaughters and godsons.

Lupe was known for her family care and providing to them. She loved to dance  and attend church gatherings, weddings, and receptions; where she was always seen helping out.

Lupe left us to her rest surrounded by family  and friends. She suffered much pain, but wanted to stay at home. She was attended by her son, David, day and night, also with help from a very special friends/caregivers, "Ana", Mayela, and Bertha. Her neighbors were very helpful too.

She loved her family and friends. Mary Briebriesco was like a sister to her, among  others to include Maria Antu, Lupe  Balli, Sylvia, Elenita and especially, Bertha Campeon, and numerous others who often cared for her. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her sons, David and Oscar, and all her family and friends.
