Harold L. Snyder, 83, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf with his loving daughter by his side.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center or the American Cancer Society in Harold's memory.

Harold was born on October 27, 1939, in Brooklyn, Illinois. He served in the United States Navy for 3 years, 4 months, and 10 days. Harold married Linda L. White on June 1, 1958, in Macomb, IL and she preceded him in death on July 24, 2022. He worked as machine repairman for International Harvester, mostly in Rock Island, until his retirement. He later worked at Alcoa for 5 years. Harold served as the Vice President of UAW Local 1310 for several years. He enjoyed building and racing cars in his earlier years, watching NASCAR and the Chicago Cubs, working in his shop, and playing pool. Harold also enjoyed spending time with his canine companion and sidekick, Lobo.

Harold is survived by his son, Larry Snyder; daughter, Angie (Greg) Keller; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Carol Lehman; and half siblings, Leroy (Kim) Snyder, Dwight (Susan) Snyder, and Robin "Renee" (Rusty) Graves.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents; infant daughter, Cathy Snyder; granddaughter, Heather Powell; and siblings, Connie and Virgil.
