Harold E. Valberg, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Milan American Legion.  He requested that his body be donated to Med-Cure for medical research.  Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Harold was born on May 9, 1933 in Watertown, SD, the son of Peder and Vesta (Dally) Valberg.  He married Marlys Krayenbrink on August 22, 1953 in Henry, SD.  Harold was a proud veteran serving in the US Army.  He worked as a furnace installer for Bullock Heating and Air Conditioning.  Harold enjoyed playing on the computer, watching baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs, and spending time and conversing with his good friend Raymond Robbins.

Harold is survived by his children, Tamie (Donnie) Noack, Rock Island, Laurie (Phil) Fowler, Mechanicsburg, PA, Kevin (Susie) Valberg, Milan, and Russell Valberg, Quincy, IL; grandchildren, Kelly (Kelly) Noack, Jennifer (Chad) Veryzer, Nick Valberg, Nicki Odekirk, Ben Valberg, Tanner (Olivia) Valberg, Jacob Fowler, Lucas Fowler, and Casey Fowler; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Hubert Valberg; sister, Deloris Sprinter; and his dog, Mia.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlys and sister, Doris Sollin.
