Harriett L. Beeding, 96, of Moline, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Private graveside services for Mrs. Beeding will be held at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Estates, Moline. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association.

Harriett was born on March 14, 1919 in Muscatine, Iowa, a daughter of Clarence and Emma Harper VanAuken. She married George Beeding on January 5, 1935 in Muscatine. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1979. Harriett worked as a painter at the Rock Island Arsenal retiring in 1981, after 24 years of service. She attended Heritage Church, Rock Island.

Survivors include her children, George (Lucille) Beeding Jr., Rock Island, Fran (James) Ryan, Moline, and Emma (Dennis) Swanson, Colona; grandchildren, Vicki, Patricia, Michael, Julie, Jeff, James, and Joseph; 14 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Harriett was preceded in death her parents; husband, George Sr.; grandchildren, Jack Bates and Mark Bates; and a brother, James VanAuken. Online condolences may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com
