Helen A. Dismer, 102, of Rockford, formerly of the Quad Cities, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Alpine Fireside in Rockford.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday January 10, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th avenue, Rock Island and will be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/1043569461/d194b3987d .  Visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of Alpine Fireside, in Rockford, IL and First Covenant Church in Moline, IL.

Helen was born on December 7, 1922 in Rock Island, IL, a daughter of Arthur and Marie (Kruse) Albrecht. She married Charles Dismer Jr. on July 19, 1947, who preceded her in death on September 14, 2020. Helen worked at the Rock Island Arsenal as an artist, where she drew assembly drawings for tanks and machine guns during World War II. She worked at Modern Woodman of America and the Rock Island Argus. She also volunteered at Church, Eugene Field School and Immanuel Lutheran Grade School.

Helen's hobbies included swimming, playing tennis, quilting, creating artwork and studying the Bible. She was best known for her infectious smile and her amazing chocolate chip cookies.

The family grieves the loss of Helen, but cherishes the memories left by her surviving members: children, Ruth Anne (Don) Feller, Gretchen (Bob) Fett and Paul (Janine) Dismer; grandchildren, Nathan Feller, Karl Feller, Christian Fett, Daniel "DJ" (Lisa) Fett, Amber Dismer, Matthew (Whitney) Dismer and Elise Dismer; and great-grandchildren, Maverick and Gage Fett and Hannah, Maggie and Catherine Dismer.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; siblings, Dorothy Gair, Ruth Strehlow and Robert Albrecht; and nephews, Robert Gair, John Gair, and granddaughter Rachael Fett.
