Helen L. Almanza, 60, of Rochelle, Ill., formerly of Milan, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Northwoods Care Center, Belvidere, Ill. Services will be held on Monday at 11 am at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 115 12th Ave. W., Milan. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family.

Helen was born in Rock Island on September 20, 1953, a daughter of LeRoy and Eva Terrill Linder.

Helen was a member at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She was dearly loved by many for her kind heart and witty humor. She loved to cook, read and play cards. Helen loved her family most of all.

Survivors include her daughters, Alicia (Rocky) Martinez, Plumas Lake, Calif. and Wendy (Barry) Gates, Rockford; grandchildren, Justice, Rocky Jr., Ahna, Eva and Emma; sister, Nancy (Ted) Roberts, Milan; and brother, Danny Luttrell, Arlington, Tex.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
