Helen Carruthers (Hudson), 92, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Christ Apostolic Church in Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery in Rock Island.

Helen was born on April 4, 1934, in Preston, Mississippi, a daughter of Marcus “Tee” Hudson and Gussie (Baker) Hudson. She worked for many years as a laborer at Servus Rubber in Rock Island.

Helen was a longtime member of Christ Apostolic Church in Davenport. She loved her family and enjoyed playing cards, attending the Active Day Program, getting her hair and nails done, and watching her favorite judge television shows.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Michael Fulton and Vanessa Fulton; son-in-law, Rodney Robinson; daughter-in-law, Gail Fulton; Lonnie Boyd, Donna Stoner, and Christopher (Chris) Griggs, whom she loved as her own; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Christine Harrison; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus “Tee” and Gussie Hudson; children, Gloria Dean Robinson, Larry Fulton, and Samuel “Sam” Fulton; daughters-in-law, Gwendolyn (Gail) Fulton, Patricia (Pat) Fulton, and Victoria (Vicky) Fulton; sisters, Odelia Cotton, Delsine Hearst, Lorine Gatheright, and Willie B. Glispie; and brothers, Luther, Sylvester, L.T., Charles, Milton, and J.B. Hudson.
