Helen J. (Vanderpool) DeMeyer, 92, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at her home. Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Those wanting to attend are asked to meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island at 1:30pm. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd/Grace Church, Rock Island.

Helen was born April 8, 1930, in Princeton, Missouri to Roy and Ethel (Laws) Vanderpool. She was educated in the Princeton schools, graduating in 1948. She came to Davenport, Iowa in 1950 and worked at Wonder Bread Bakery for many years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Good Shepherd/Grace Church in Rock Island.

Surviving is a daughter, Vicki Mathews, of Rock Island, and son, Gary (Sandra) DeMeyer, of Rock Island; granddaughter, Danielle, of Rock Island; step family, Jen (Scott), Shelby (Garrett), Jack, Grace (Isaiah), Isabelle (Josh); two nieces, Tina and Vanessa, of Nebraska; good friends, Peggy and Dusty Tobin and Jenny Daniels; and fur friend, Abby.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; two sisters; and son-in-law, Dennis Mathews.
