Helen J. Jones, 95, of Rock Island, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at her home. Services for Helen will be 11 am, Monday at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Preemption Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Helen was born on February 23, 1919 in Boden, Illinois, a daughter of Winslow and Cora (Huffman) Whan. She married Leo Jones on July 5, 1946 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He preceded her in death in August of 1985. Helen was a homemaker, earlier she had worked at Servus Rubber Co., Rock Island. She was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, the Faith Hope Circle of the church, 40 year member of T.O.P.S. and a 30 year member of K.O.P.S., and the Hauberg Senior Citizen Club, Rock Island. Helen enjoyed playing cards and Bunco.

Survivors include 11 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; siblings, Lola Berenger, Doris LaMere, Harvey Whan, Ray Whan, and James "Bud" Whan; nephews, Bill Whan, John Berenger, and Rod Crawford.
