Herman Culps Jr., 61, of Burlington, Iowa passed away Saturday April 5, 2014 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.A visitation will be held from 11:00- 12:00, Friday, with a memorial service following at 12:00 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral in Rock Island, Ill. Memorials may be made to the family.

Herman was born on July 7, 1952 in Fort Dodge, Iowa son of Josephine Culps and Herman Wilson Sr. He moved to Davenport in 1962. Herman retired from J.I. Case in 2006 as a machinist.

He loved playing cards, dominos, and basketball. He was an avid walker, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Herman is survived by his long- time girlfriend, Lutrice "Tammy" Lewis, Burlington; children, Justin Culps (Andrea) , Lindamarlane- Shelby Township, Mich., Jamiel Culps (Tashonna), Burlington, Alecia Tot, Davenport, Dedrick Westbrook, East Moline, and Tamera Williams, Dietrick Williams, Kaisha Anderson and LeeAlan Anderson, all of Burlington; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Rebecca Hardy, of Minn., Jolene McSwain, of Calif., Lenora Sally (MacArthur), of Colo., and Sandra Bullock, of Greenville, S.C.; brothers, Steve Culps, Moline, Pastor Jerome Green (Cynthia) Moline; and a great host of nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his mother; and brother, Randy Culps.
