Hugh "Butch" Woeber, Jr., 81, Andalusia, died Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Mercer Manor Rehabilitation Center, Aledo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Inurnment will be later at Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Alleman High School or WQPT.
Butch was born on July 11, 1939, in Moline, the son of Hugh "Bert" and Louise Houldsworth Woeber. He married Wiltrudis Hoffman on February 20, 1960. He married Betty Johnson in November 1984.
He spent his career in the commercial laundry business starting at Aramark in East Moline and then as plant manager of D&J Laundry, Moline and later plant manager of CTS driving every day to Cedar Rapids until his retirement in 2003.
Butch was an avid sportsman with a passion for guns, hunting and fishing. He took special pride in teaching his three sons and special nephew David Lund how to hunt and fish. He is a founding member of the Illinois City Conservation Club. In his younger days he spent many years on softball teams and playing golf. He had a lifelong love of gardening and spending time outdoors.
He was most proud of being a member of the 1956 Alleman football team which was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.
Survivors include children, Tracy (Tom) DeClerck, Kyle (Jayne), Todd (Heidi), and Darren (Theresa); grandchildren Tyler (Brittany) DeClerck, Tori (Alex) Wenthe, Tessa DeClerck, Nathan (Jennifer) Woeber, Dalton Woeber, Sam Woeber, Ben Woeber, Mitchell Woeber and Maddie Woeber; great-grandchildren Rylee and Taytum DeClerck, Everett Woeber and Oliver Wenthe; step-children, Tracy (Jeff) Webber and Valerie (James) Gabbard; sister, Carolyn Lund; many nieces, nephews and special friend, George Bollinger.
