Ida R. Andich, 97, of Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island. Services for Mrs. Andich will be 11:30 am, Monday at Congregation Beth Israel at the Tri-City Jewish Center, Rock Island. Burial will be in the Hebrew Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Tri-City Jewish Center, Rock Island. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Ida was born on January 10, 1919, the daughter of Isadore Pesses and Sarah Weindruch Pesses. She married Aleck M. Andich on June 23, 1940 in Rock Island.  She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel at the Tri-City Jewish Center, and participated in the  Sisterhood there, as well as in activities of the Jewish Federation. She loved books and was a lifelong reader who joined with enthusiasm in book club discussions.

Survivors include her daughters, Sheila (Steven) Barid, Decatur, GA., and Gail (Michael) Paul, Bellevue, WA.; grandchildren, Richard (Aimee), Savannah , GA., Leah (Kathryn), Smyrna, GA., and Aaron (Shannon), Bellevue, WA.; and a great grandson, Jacob.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Aleck; brothers, Louis Pesses and Alex Pesses. Online condolences may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com
