Ida M. Guzzo Rummans, 85, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10 - 11 am Friday, January 26, 2024 at the church. The mass will be live-streamed and recorded by visiting the following link: https://vimeo.com/904231058. Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. Memorials in care of Alleman High School, St. Pius X Catholic Church or Habitat for Humanity.
Ida was born in Rock Island, Illinois on August 7, 1938, a daughter of Domenic and Lena Cusimano Guzzo. She graduated from Alleman High School. Ida married Elmer Rummans on May 24, 1958 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Together they had three children.
Ida worked twenty plus years in the advertising department for Deere and Company. For many years, she also ran her own business in Rock Island called, Butterflies R Free.
Ida was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island, where she formerly cooked for all of the priests. She was an avid gardener who won the Rock Island Beautification Award. She also loved volunteering her time for Habitat for Humanity.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Gregory M. Rummans and his partner, Gil Cartwright, Chattanooga, TN, Dana (Virgil) Mayberry, Rock Island, IL and Stephen (Gayla) Rummans, Waterford, WI; grandchildren, Mia Mayberry, Anthony (Jenny) Rummans, Kameron (Laura) Rummans and Krista Knight; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Tina Sonneville, Moline, IL and Domenic Guzzo, Fort Lauderdale, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Angie Giammetta and Thomas, Sam, Joe and Jim Guzzo.
