Ilene Lorraine Hedstrom, 84, of Moline, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 in Dallas, TX, where she lived the past two years.
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 12th, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to services. Following services private family inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
Ilene was born on January 18, 1932 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of George and Nedra Hedstrom. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1949. Early in her life she was a model and a talented singer, recording a few records.
Ilene worked at Lundeen and Toline Architects in Moline and then went on to work for Deere and Company at the Administration Center. She worked in the Department of International Transportation from which she retired in 1997.
She attended First Presbyterian Church in Davenport, IA. She enjoyed walking at the mall, visiting with her friends, going to Harris Pizza and Country Style Ice Cream.
Ilene loved going to her grandchildren's sporting and school events, spending time boating on the river and vacationing with her family. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
Ilene was a blessing to all, as she left a legacy of love, faith in Jesus Christ and a strong family.
Survivors include her daughters (and sons-in-law), Cindy (David) Weber, Geneseo, IL, and Susan (Vince) Ackerson, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Justin Weber, Geneseo, Kristen Weber, Chicago, IL, Jennifer (Michael) Morton, Dallas, TX, and Kate (Mike) Roth, Houston, TX. She recently became a great-grandmother to great-grandson, Wells Morton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nedra Hedstrom, and her brother, George Hedstrom, Jr.
