Irene M. Garrison, 91, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her home. Services for Mrs. Garrison will be 10 am, Thursday at First Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Irene was born on August 19, 1925 in Moline, a daughter of John and Mamie Lutz Bowser. She married Leonard Garrison on January 7, 1949 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on June 7, 2008. Irene was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Rock Island. Irene enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time at the casino. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Dianna Garrison, Rock Island, Douglas (Christine) Garrison, Moline, and Daniel (Elaine) Garrison, Rock Island; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; siblings, Rosalie Vincent, Rock Island, Mary Jo (Terry) Jacks, Moline, Sherry (Mike) Wilson, Milan, William (Irene) Bowser, Rock Island, Scott (Pam) Bowser, Rock Island, and her angel, Donna Knudtson.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; son, David; siblings, Virginia Albertson, Sally Rosenbaum, John "Rusty" Bowser and Robert Bowser.
