Irene M. Tollenaer, 91, of Milan, passed away Thursday February 28, 2019 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan. Services will be 11 am, Tuesday at Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 9 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Rock Island Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be left to Avonlea Cottage, Milan or the Alzheimer's Association. Irene was born on June 7, 1927 in Rock Island, the daughter of Earl and Roxie (Wilson) Parrish. She married Harry "Pete" Tollenaer on June 21, 1947 in Rock Island. She was a homemaker helping raise three wonderful children. Mrs. Tollenaer and her late husband Pete had been charter members of Mississippi Valley Regional Antique Car Club. Irene loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Mike (Mary) Tollenaer, Rock Island, and Jeff Tollenaer, Muscatine, Iowa; daughter, Patricia Ford, Milan; grandchildren (and spouses), Tiffany (Ryan) Gunn, Tara Tollenaer, Pete Tollenaer, Scott (Amy) Ford, Todd (Tammy) Ford, Erica (Preet) Sethi; and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Drake, Jadyn, Joanna, Evan, Ella, Neil and Evan. She was preceded in death by her, parents; husband, Pete; siblings, William Parrish, Mary Swanson, Dorothy Winterbottom, Hazel Parrish, Willard Parrish, John Parrish, Robert Parrish, Richard Parrish; and a son in law, Leo Ford.
