Iris L. Edwards, 93, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday May 16, 2021 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

A memorial service and celebration of Iris's life will be held 11AM Saturday, August 7 at 15th Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island. A special musical prelude to the service, featuring music on piano, flute and organ, will begin at the church at 10:30 AM.  Private burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to 15th Avenue Christian Church.

Iris was born on November 18, 1927 in Sandstone, MN., the daughter of Errol and Alice (Gambold) Holmes. She married Dr. Richard Edwards on August 6, 1955 in Olympia, Washington. He preceded her on March 20, 2005.

Iris was employed for 15 years at the Rock Island Arsenal as an Administrative Officer, until her retirement in 1992.

Iris was an active member of 15th Avenue Christian Church. She served as Clerk for the church for 15 years and also as the Financial Secretary.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Klema, Illinois City, Terrell (Brendan) Klema, Charlestown, NH, Gary (Jennifer) Edwards, Borrego Springs, CA, David (Patricia) Edwards, Blue Grass, IA; grandchildren, Mackenzie Klema, Kaitlyn Klema, Mitchell Klema, Sarah Klema, Gabrielle Klema, Jager Klema, Loren Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Errol and Alice; 4 brothers and a sister.
