Obituary

Isaiah Crawford Sr. age 69 of Rock Island, IL passed away on Tuesday August 8, 2023.

Visitation will be at 11-12:00 PM with the funeral following at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, Rock Island, IL. Services will be livestreamed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream . Burial will be held at the Rock Memorial Park & Cemetery Mausoleum, Rock Island IL. Memorials preferred to the family.

Isaiah Crawford Sr. was born on May 13, 1954, in Kilmichael, MS. The son of Archie Lee Crawford, Sr. and Flora Bell (Yates) Crawford. Isaiah Crawford Sr. graduated from Wyandanch High school in Wyandanch NY in 1972. Isaiah Crawford Sr. moved to Rock Island, IL and married Constance E. Palmer on July 26, 1975, at the age of 21. Isaiah and Constance just celebrated their 48th year Anniversary with great joy. Isaiah worked for McLaughlin Body Shop, John Deere Harvester, Black Hawk College Transportation and Sea Ford Clothing Company. Isaiah Crawford Sr. hobbies were playing the bass guitar and the keyboard, and he invented and patented his inventions. Isaiah loved working on peoples' cars. He was a highly skilled mechanic. Isaiah was a builder and carpenter. Isaiah was very talented and gifted in many things. He was an excellent cook. Isaiah loved cooking for his family and friends. Isaiah was an excellent free hand artist. Isaiah was an excellent seamstress. He made his own patterns, and he sewed clothing. He also made customized duffle bags & diaper bags. Isaiah had excellent barber/Hair stylist skills. Isaiah served as a Pro se lawyer on many of his personal court cases. Isaiah was a loving husband and a loving father. Isaiah was a family man and very kindhearted and would help anyone in distressed. Isaiah was a member of the Rock Island Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Isaiah was baptized on October 8,1995. Isaiah loved being in the field ministry and starting bible studies. Isaiah attended his last convention of Jehovah's Witnesses via live stream and prayed with his family before he passed away. Isaiah will be remembered as a very strong man of steel to his family. He was our rock. Isaiah fought for what was right and he never stood for ways of injustices. Isaiah taught his family to always stand up and fight for what he knew was right. Isaiah will be deeply missed and remembered with love by all his family and friends. The Crawford family would like to send a special thanks to the Palmer Family for all their love and support.

Those left to cherish Isaiah Crawford Includes his wife Constance E. Crawford, his daughter, Angela E. Crawford Dixon, and son-In-law Deangelo D. Dixon. His son Caleb L. Crawford and his daughter, Katie M. Crawford. His son Malcolm Q. Crawford and his daughter Mariyah S. Crawford. His twin granddaughters, Jasmine J. Crawford and Janet J. Crawford, granddaughter Makayla M. Crawford, granddaughter Sydney S. Crawford, granddaughter Cajayla A. Crawford, grandson Nicholas L. Crawford, and grandson Jordan L. Crawford and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. His brothers Al-Mumin A. Jabbaar Ollie Crawford, Bishop Elijah Crawford (Martha), Jacob Crawford (Bobbie).  His sisters Dorothy J. Crawford Hunt, Ethel Crawford, Willie Stean Crawford, His Sisters'- In- Law Jeannelle (Garner) Crawford, Vergie Hill, His last living Aunt Ella Mae (Yates) Ward, and a host of sisters -in -laws and brother- in -laws aunts and cousin

Isaiah was preceded in death by his parents Archie L. Crawford Sr. and Flora Bell (Yates) Crawford. His Sisters Lena Mae Forest Mary Lou Crawford, and Mary Lee Crawford Shields (Perry). His Son Isaiah L. Crawford Jr. His Nephew Kendrick Lynn Crawford and his daughter- in- law Marva (King) Crawford. His brother Archie L. Crawford Jr., his sister Sallie Bell Crawford Bowman (Reasise) and his brother Abraham Crawford.
