Isaiah "Zay" B. Hawkins, 15, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

 A celebration of life for Zay will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family. 

Isaiah was born on October 1, 2010, in Glendale Heights, IL, a son of Kiara Lockett. He attended Washington Junior High School in Rock Island and was currently a student at Thurgood Marshall Learning Center. 

Zay's hobbies included rapping, listening to music, gaming, and playing football. Family was a big part of his life and he enjoyed bantering with his siblings. Those who knew Zay will remember him for his selflessness in giving to others and his silly heart. 

Those left to cherish Zay's memory include his parents, Kiara Lockett (Darrell); bonus mom, Samii; siblings, Joe and Kaya; half siblings, Javeon, Izabella, Kash, and Keeshay; grandparents, Curtis (Danielle) Washington and Yolanda Jensen; great-grandfather, Richard Jensen; uncles, Belden and Tyler (Tori) Washington; aunts, Janee Smith, LaKenya, and Marquita; and a host of cousins and extended family.

 He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Lorraine.
