Jack J. Boccarossa, 79, passed away on April 24, 2025, at Generations in Rock Island after a five-year battle with kidney cancer.
Jack was born on March 20, 1946, to Joseph and Mary Boccarossa. He graduated from Rock Island High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He later earned a Master's degree in Professional Management from the Florida Institute of Technology.
Jack served in the United States Army Reserves for seven years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal during his service.
He retired after 42 years at the Rock Island Arsenal, spending most of his career in the Small Business Administration.
In addition to his work at the Arsenal, Jack and his wife were the owners of Jack Frost Pines, Milan, Il, a choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm they operated for 35 years, bringing joy and tradition to many families in the community.
Jack was active in his church and involved with many organizations across the Quad Cities. He served on the R.I.A. Federal Credit Union Board, the Sherrard School Board, and was a member of several community groups. He also ran for United States Congress, reflecting his strong commitment to public service.
Jack married Noreen (Pash), and together they shared 54 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Noreen; his children, James (Stephanie) Boccarossa of Chicago, IL, and Carrie (Greg) Pillay of Sarasota, FL; his five grandsons, Alexander, Anthony, James, Jack, and Joseph; and his sister, Barbara "Cookie" Stave of Wolfeboro, NH.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Church in Silvis, Illinois. A funeral service will follow immediately after, with a luncheon hosted by the family following the service.

Jack's unique life reflected a strong commitment to his family, service, and community. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
