Jack E. Fitzpatrick, 89, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family to be designated to the Quad Cities Veterans Outreach Center and the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Jack was born on January 17, 1932, in Moline, a son of Frank N. and Martha M. (Lannoo) Fitzpatrick. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and married Janet R. Hodson on January 5, 1958, in Rock Island. Jack worked in various sales roles and retired from Bonnett Wholesale Florist in 1994. He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Rock Island where he held various positions. Jack was also a member of the former Rock Island American Legion Post #200. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed woodworking. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish Jack's memory include his wife, Janet; son, Todd (Kerrie) Fitzpatrick; daughter, Tami (Jeff) Claus; grandchildren, Frank (Tabitha) Fitzpatrick, Emma (Michael) Kaschke, and Claire (Kevin) Wood; and great grandchildren, Jayda Fitzpatrick, Olyvia Fitzpatrick, and Stephen Anthony Kaschke; and many other family members.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine (Bob) Bonnett and Marilyn (Ben) Hodson; and great granddaughter, Emma Fitzpatrick.
