Jacqueline K. Hooks, Jacque to her friends, 64, passed away quietly on Friday, March 4, 2016, after a short battle with kidney cancer.  She leaves a legacy of "Jacque-isms" and "Jacque moments" that will be greatly missed by her dear friends and family.

Arrangements to celebrate Jacque's life will be Wednesday, Mar 9, from 4:00- 7:00 pm at Wheelan- Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4 Avenue, Milan, IL. Funeral services will be at St. Pius X Church, 2502 29 Avenue, RI, IL, Thursday, Mar 10 at 11:00am. Jacque will be buried next to her husband, Bill Hooks, in Rock Island National Cemetery.

Jacque was born in Dubuque, Iowa on June 6, 1951 to John (Jack) Siefker and Helen Scott. She was the oldest of 5 siblings: Dan Siefker, Sandi Siefker, Kim (Hasso) Boehm, Doug Siefker and Shawn (Danny) Crouse.  She graduated from Wahlert High School in 1969. Her best friend from high school, Pat Lippert, was a great source of love and comedic relief of the pair's exploits in high school.  The family is so grateful for these stories and the smiles and laughter that they bring. Nothing is more healing that laughter.

On Feb 8, 1971, she married William J. Hooks (Bill). They had three children, Melissa (John) Burant, Tiffany Hooks and Jamie Hooks.

Jacque & Bill were avid bowlers and made so many great friends at Central Bowl and Town & Country Lanes in RI. Jacque was also a member of Welcome Wagon in RI.  Jacque worked as a realtor for many years, and most recently was an admin assistant at Lujack's.  She could talk to anyone and knew everyone.  She could be anywhere in the Quad Cities and run into a familiar face. She had so many special friendships and the family is so grateful for all of those friends who reached out with a kind word, note or phone call to Jacque.

Bill passed away Oct 23, 2006 and Jacque's world was turned upside down. She forged ahead, as only Jacque can do and was able to build a life of independence and adventure. She enjoyed shopping and trips to Chicago with her daughters, Jamie and Tiffany.  She had 8 grandchildren, whom she adored and would do anything for: Dylan, Austin, Hunter, Aubree, Izaya, Alexis & Braden. She had 4 great grandchildren whom she also loved dearly. Jacque also was fortunate to be part of the wonderful Hooks family who loved her as their own sister, aunt, daughter.

Jacque was a special person, who could light up a room with her booming personality and contagious laughter.  She loved dancing the night away at Police Benevolent events as well as listening to live music whenever possible.

These past 2 years, Jacque was a special support to David, a very special friend and brother-in-law who lost his dear wife, Nancy, unexpectedly. David brought the light back to Jacque's eyes and Jacque helped put the light back in David's eyes. Jacque's daughters are especially thankful to David for the support that he was to their mother during her very brief, but heartbreaking illness. Jacque passed while holding David's hand.

Jacque was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her brother, Dan, and her parents.
