Jacqueline L. Vander Meersch, 66, Rock Island, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.  Funeral services are 11 am Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Jordan Catholic School, Rock Island or to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Jackie was born October 25, 1949 in Kewanee, Ill, a daughter of H. Dean and Frances Coddington Gutshall.  She married Thomas Vander Meersch on June 3, 1972 in Peoria, Ill.  She retired from the City of Rock Island in 2004.

She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Thomas; sons, Eric (Jennifer) and their children, Ethan, Isaac and Abigail; Mitchell (Julliette) and their son, Zane; Kyle and his daughter, Emma; sisters, Mitzie (Joe) Ehlen and Jill (Noel) Nunley; several brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and long-time friend Carolyn Fuller.  She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law; and a nephew.
