James A. "Jim" Anderson, 76, of Rock island, passed away Saturday January 25, 2025 at UPH Trinity Hospital, Rock Island.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Thursday January 30, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island.

James was born on July 15, 1948 in Rock Island, the second son of Norman Arthur and Martha Irene "Rene" (Minarsich) Anderson.

He was raised and attended school in Rock Island.  He started his career working at Farmall, French and Hecht, later he became part owner of All Service Garage and lastly managed DeGreve Oil Change office.

Jim was an avid fisherman, who loved being outdoors, animals and hang gliding in his younger days. He was known to be a bit stubborn but had a very soft heart.

Survivors include his sons, James Sean Anderson, Todd (Amy) Anderson; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Sheila) Anderson; aunt, Sheila Goderis; many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Martha Irene; and infant brother, Earnest Anderson.
