James C. "Apple" DeLoose, 67, of Milan, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at his home.  Services will be Noon Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Rock Island.  Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

James was born in Rock Island on September 20, 1948, a son of John L. and  Norma Jean Johnson DeLoose.  He married Carla Rose on August 14, 1984 in Rock Island and they remained very close friends over the years.

James worked at Tyson Foods in Joslin, Ill. and retired in 2011.

James was a great pool player and major movie buff.  He enjoyed playing cards, reading and cooking.  He also enjoyed his time playing with his grandson, Coopy.

Survivors include his children, Stephanie (Brandon) Elliott-Brown, Viola and Chris (Katie Zimmerman) DeLoose, Milan; grandchildren, Anthony Natarelli, Cooper DeLoose and Elli Brown; sister, Jacqulin (Phil) Shore, California; brothers, Jerry DeLoose, Bettendorf and John M. DeLoose, Milan; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
