James E. Bickle, 71, of Reynolds, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at his residence.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Reynolds American Legion. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Reynolds, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jim was born on October 12, 1953, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of R. D. and Patricia Mae (Johnson) Bickle. He graduated from Rockridge High School in 1971.

Jim was united in marriage to Kathryn Sivill, and they shared two children. He later married Sally (Hughes) Petersen, and they had two children. On May 2, 2012, he married Julia A. Scalf in Las Vegas, Nevada, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter, family, and adventure.

Throughout his life, Jim was known for his strong work ethic and outgoing personality. He spent most of his career as a salesman. Over the years, he sold a wide variety of products and built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

Jim's love of sports was lifelong. He was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, and Illinois Fighting Illini. He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed riding his bicycle daily. Traveling with his wife, Julie, brought him great joy, and the two created many cherished memories together.

Those left to cherish Jim's memory include his wife, Julie; children, Adam (Tara) Bickle, Alex Bickle, Allison (Christopher) Wienhold, and Kelly (Joshua) Ginglen; stepchildren, Jared (Holly) Bohler and Jessica Bohler (fiancé, Ryan Tompkins); grandchildren, Lathan Carter, Miles Bohler, Noah Wienhold, Jemma Bohler, Maxton Bickle, and Henry Wienhold; siblings, Robert D. (Judy) Bickle, Pamela (Ron) Canterbury, Shawn Bickle, and Michael (Lynn) Bickle; dear friend, Richard Bowen; and several other close friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
