James "Jim" C. Reynolds, aged 82, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity in Rock Island, surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was born on July 12, 1943, in Moline, Illinois, to Harold and Loraine (Johnson) Reynolds. He graduated from Rock Island High School and furthered his education at Black Hawk College. Jim worked a significant portion of his life in the agricultural industry, working at International Harvester. His career spanned several decades, during which he rose through the ranks, starting at Farmall as a process engineer and moving to Supplier Quality Control Manager in Chicago before retirement. In 2008, Jim experienced the loss of his wife, Cheryl Kay; however, his heart found love once more when he married Barbara DeGreve on February 15, 2023. Together, they embraced life with joy and companionship. An avid enthusiast of aviation, Jim earned his private pilot license and served as past president of the Flying Country Club. His passions extended to sport shooting, golf, and he was a proud member of the NRA, the Milan Rifle Club, and the Rock Island Eagles Club. Jim's legacy will be cherished by his beloved wife, Barbara; his daughter, Debra Coleman; his son, Douglas (Virginia) Reynolds; two step-children; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; his brother, Dan (Linda) Reynolds; and his son-in-law, Kevin Kriebs. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Diane Kriebs; and infant twins, Dawn and David. Private services will be held according to the family's wishes. Arrangements are under the care of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Jim will be laid to rest at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. In honor of Jim's memory, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to a charity of choice.
