James "Bub" D. Booker, Sr. , 58, of Milan, Ill., passed away Monday November 23, 2020 at UnityPoint-Trinity, Rock Island.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, is assisting the family with arrangements.

James came into this world on, July 17, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Donald and Janet Bebber Booker.

He was a welder for McLaughlin Body Co., Moline for many years.

James' true passion was music; it was a love that spanned 50 years. He was a gifted guitar player, and loved playing alongside his best friend and brother, Jeff.  He enjoyed fishing along the Rock River, cooking for his many friends and family, and helping others however he could.

His infectious laugh and sparkling blue eyes will be missed by his children, Jamie Meyer, Davenport, Iowa, Jessica (Shane) Sampson, Ottumwa, Iowa, Julie Meyer, Davenport, and James Booker, Jr., Milan, Ill., eight grandchildren; significant other, Cathy Frink, Milan; mother, Janet Booker, Rock Island, Ill.; sisters and brothers, Pam (Joe) Lage, Rock Island, Cyndi (Mark) Wells, Coal Valley, Ill., Teresa (Lisa) Tourney, Moline, Ill., Jeff (Tammy) Booker, Milan, Jon (Shannon) Booker, Eldridge, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father; brother, Randy Booker; and infant sister, Kathy Ann Hall.
