Obituary

James "Jim" D. Winn, 65, of Milan, died Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at home surrounded by family.  A short prayer service will be 11 am Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Illinois.  Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday, March 4 at the funeral home.  Cremation rites to follow.  Memorials may be made in care of the Lupus Foundation of America.

Jim was born in Rock Island, Illinois on December 15, 1957, a son of Orval "Dean" and Tresa Rouse Winn.  He graduated from Sherrard High School and then focused becoming a tradesman.  Jim married Donna Verschoore on February 15, 1986 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, Illinois.

Jim was a laborer for the Laborers Local Union #309 and retired in 2010.  He enjoyed playing euchre, fishing and golfing.  He loved helping Donna watch their granddaughter, Kamryn.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Winn, Milan; daughters, Jenna (Chris) Morse, Preemption and Andrea Winn, Milan; granddaughter, Kamryn Sexton; siblings, Derald (Malia) Winn, Rock Island, Tim (Sally) Winn, Sherrard, Tammie (Jeff) George, Rock Island and Jennie (Brad) Johnson, Milan; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Garrett George.
