James "Jim" F. Leonard, 60, of Davenport passed away on March 13, 2023 at home.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those who wish to attend can meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave Rock Island, at 1:00 pm. Memorials may be left in care of the US Department of Veterans Affairs or Humility of Mary Shelter, Davenport.

Jim was born on January 2, 1963 in Rock Island, a son of James and Patricia (Carroll) Leonard. He married Victoria Coutts and they had one daughter together before later divorcing. Jim served in the United States Navy from 1982-1985. He then went on to serve in the Reserves for 20 years, which included a tour in Afghanistan.

Jim enjoyed collecting baseball cards and was a big fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Briar Leonard, Moline; brothers Mike Leonard, Moline and Robert (Gwen) Leonard, Cedar Rapids; 4 nieces and nephews; and 4 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Robert Thieme; and stepbrother, Reno Thieme.
