James W. Harder, 68, of Coal Valley, formerly of Orion, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mr. Harder will be 10 am, Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island and may be live-streamed at www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream-RockIsland. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 pm. to 7 pm. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund that will be established at a later date.

All visitors will be required to wear a facemask and maintain social distancing.

James was born on January 21, 1952 in Davenport, a son of John and Elizabeth (Winter) Harder. He married Diane Crownover on June 22, 1974 in Rock Island. Jim worked as a mechanic for Ruan Transfer in Buffalo, Iowa for 37 years, retiring in 2009. He was a member of Teamster Local 371. Jim enjoyed drag racing, NASCAR and the Chicago Bears.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughters, Erin Harder, Freeport and Kelly (Hari) Polukonda, Bettendorf; a granddaughter, Olivia; siblings, John Harder, Rock Island and Mary Harder, Rock Island; nephew, Don (Katy) Harder, Davenport.
